We are based in Raleigh, NC. Our prices include delivery and pick up within 25 miles of our trade center located in Raleigh, Zip Code – 27612. Additional charges apply for pickups and deliveries from 25-50 miles from our center.

What products and services do you offer?

Save a Tree rents out reusable eco-friendly plastic moving boxes for residential and commercial moves, organizing and storage. We also rent two-wheel and four-wheel moving dollies and sell environmentally friendly packing material. Your entire order is delivered to your home/office and conveniently picked up from your new location.

Are there any hidden charges?

We pride ourselves in being honest and transparent about our pricing. You will know the fees we charge up front, before you pay for them. We don’t think it is right for our customers to pay hidden service fees. Our delivery and pickups are always free within our 25 mile radius for ground/second floor deliveries. The only time we add a delivery charge is if your delivery needs to be taken to a third floor or higher or if there is an extended carry to and from our truck. We give you more boxes in each of our standard packages than our competitors from around the country. We also have options to add a few extra boxes if you feel you may need them. This allows our clients to individualize their order to fit their needs. Just one more reason why Save a Tree Moving Boxes has the best service and the great prices.

How long I should rent my boxes for?

The majority of our clients need a minimum of one week to pack and then another week to unpack. As a result, most our rentals for small spaces (two bedroom and smaller) are for two weeks. For homes or apartments with more than three bedrooms most rentals are for three or even four weeks. The larger the home or office space, the more time most Renters need for packing/unpacking. We give you upfront pricing for one, two, three or four week rentals. If you need them longer, just let us know. We will be glad to extend your time for a small additional charge. For those who are super-fast, yes we will rent you our boxes for only one week and save you a bit more money.

My friend owns a hand truck, why should I rent one of your dollies?

Our four wheel dollies are custom designed to fit Save a Tree moving boxes. Each dolly has a 500 pound capacity and can easily handle four loaded and stacked moving boxes or a full wardrobe. The 4″ non-marking casters provide durability and a smooth ride. We also have two wheel dollies available that allow for easy movement of our moving boxes from room to room.

What about our packing material?

Geami WrapPak – the combination of a patented die cut kraft paper with a tissue interleaf paper. The Geami WrapPak converter expands the die cut paper to a 3D honeycomb structure providing a unique wrapping product. By locking the angled cells together, items are firmly wrapped and no tape is ever needed. Do you have fragile pieces or collectibles? Do you have some of grandma’s old china? Then, we highly suggest Geami WrapPak. Not only does it provide excellent protection for fragile items, it is made out of a unique kraft paper material that is 100% recyclable. It replaces the need to use plastic bubble wrap that is not biodegradable and lives with us forever in our landfills. Geami Wrap is definitely one of the most Eco-Friendly products out there.

Packing Paper – Our environmentally friendly packing paper is made from over 70% recycled paper. It is biodegradable, recyclable and compostable. Our recycled paper is a great alternative to use over standard wrapping paper and tissue. Use it to wrap your glassware items and other valuables in place of that old bubble wrap. Our recycled packing paper comes in 25 lb. bundles. We recommend one bundle for a 1-2 bedroom, two bundles for a 2-3 bedroom, three bundles for a 3-4 bedroom and four bundles for a 4-5 bedroom. If you tend to be a Pack Rat, add a bundle or two. If you do not use them, we will gladly give you a refund for any unopened bundles.

How can I be sure that your moving boxes are clean?

We pressure wash and disinfect our moving boxes after every use. The boxes are delivered clean and fresh unlike used cardboard boxes that can be dirty, mildewed or even infested by insects and critters.

How does the delivery and pickup process work?

You place your order and select a delivery date and a delivery time window. Then, determine the most likely day that you would like to have your moving boxes picked up. Save a Tree will call you to confirm the day before your delivery. We narrow down your delivery window and then deliver within the designated timeframe. After your move, we will pick up the empty boxes from your new home or office. You must be present at delivery and pick up. Not ready, just let us know and we can extend your rental time. Please note, extra charges apply for extending your time in most situations.

Can I choose a delivery time window?

Yes, we deliver boxes Monday – Saturday from 9am – 6pm. Simply select from one of the following time periods:

9am – 12pm   / 12pm –3pm   /  4pm – 6pm

(Need a special delivery? We can accommodate most requests – additional charges do apply.)

Will I be charged for delivery and pickup?

Free home delivery and pickup are included in our pricing. There is no charge for deliveries to the first or second floor of your house or apartment building. We are pleased to help you deliver to a floor other than the ground or second floor for a small nominal fee. Third floor deliveries – add $10.00. Over three floors, call us for a quote. There is an additional fee when we encounter the following situations:

  • Long Carries – over 100 feet from truck to door – additional charge of $15.00.
  • Long Carries – over 200 feet from truck to door – additional charge of $30.00.
  • Delivery/Pickup – outside our 25 mile radius (within 50 miles) – additional sur-charge of $50.00 applies.
  • Special Deliveries – call us for a quote. Need a special time or have a special request. We will do everything we can to accommodate your request.

Do I have to be around when you deliver and pick up the boxes?

We require an adult (18 years or older) to be present at the time of delivery and pickup. We will call you 20-30 minutes prior to your scheduled time to assure you that we are on the way.


What happens if I need to keep the boxes longer than my rental time period?

No problem. Just call us and we will be glad to extend you for the additional time that you need the boxes. Keep in mind please that we have a lot of customer’s and we do need them back. On average, there is an additional charge of $1.50 per box per week. If you don’t return the boxes after 42 days (six weeks) we will charge you for the full cost of the boxes and the dollies that you may have rented.

My movers are packing for me. Can I still use Save a Tree?

Absolutely. In fact, having your movers pack using Save a Tree will save you money. Since movers normally charge by the hour, it will be much cheaper for you. The movers won’t charge you for cardboard boxes, the tape that it takes to secure them and the additional time that it takes to build and secure both the bottom and the top of the box. With Save a Tree Moving Boxes, the Movers pop them open, pack them and snap them shut. Our boxes are EASY to use.

How quickly can I get Save a Tree to deliver boxes to my place?

Simply place another order on our website. We can consolidate the pickup date and time so that both orders can be picked up at once.

What if I am moving outside of your service area?

There will be a surcharge of $50.00 for pick-up from 25-50 miles from the center of our service area. We do not pickup beyond 25 miles of our service area unless special arrangements are made in advance.

What if I am moving from outside your service area into your service area?

There will be a surcharge of $50.00 for delivery from 25-50 miles from the center of our service area. We do not deliver beyond 25 miles of our service area unless special arrangements are made in advance.

Is there a cancellation fee if I decide I don’t need the service?

Cancel your delivery prior to us loading your order and we will be glad to give you a full refund. Please remember, once we have loaded your order, we have no choice but to charge a minimum of a one-week rental. A cancellation confirmation number will be sent once we have received your request.

Does Save a Tree Moving Boxes offer moving services?

Save a Tree is not a moving company. We only deliver and pickup our moving boxes. We do have valuable insight about the best moving companies in our area and we are glad to recommend some of the best to you. Great movers are always busy so please remember to book 3-4 weeks in advance.
